Your Place or Minecraft?
Your Place or Minecraft? is a machinima documentary webseries that follows the virtual lives of a handful academics playing Minecraft together. An online adventure of fun, smarts and drama.
The show takes place in the virtual land of the ‘mLab server,’ one of the most modded Minecraft servers in the world. But what makes it really special is that it is owned by academic game research centres of Concordia University where the players—students and professors—all work together in real life. Their real life friendships, objectives and conflicts result in fascinating, self-reflexive and sometimes explosive gameplay.

Streaming @ the Margins of Play
Live-streaming has become a key way individuals and groups now experience videogames. Sites like twitch.tv offer players simple ways to broadcast live video of their gameplay along with audio and/or video images of themselves as they play, commentating as well as responding to viewers.

Game Design for Plants
‘Game Design for Plants’ is a workshop format, developed by PhD student Ida Marie Toft, in which participants are asked to engage with a challenging and thought provoking task of designing games for a variety of house plants.
The workshop is a practical design intervention around the otherwise rather theoretical conversations of New Materialism and Cross-Species Studies, critically engaging questions around agency, individuality, community, choice, difference, sensorial systems, power, play as well as both history and recent trends in plant biology and plant communication.
